He is one of the greatest and most accomplished life painters of the period between the two world wars. His distinctive rural subjects, features, brushwork and use of colour are recognisable. His paintings have travelled beyond Hungary. He is a sought-after exhibitor at major picture auctions, both in Hungary and abroad. He started to work as a painter, but had to give it up for health reasons, and then he began to work more intensively in painting. He studied at the Academy of Applied Arts as a student of Samu Hibján and István Gróh.He had several exhibitions at the Műcsarnok.
