Laszlo Benyi Painter, art writer.

1909 - 2004

Rákosliget, 1909-2004 He graduated from a law school. From 1931 to 1933 he studied at the free school of Aba Novák Vilmos, and until 1936 he continued his studies as a scholar at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts. 1936: Award of the Szinye Society, 1946: MNK Fine Arts Award; 1956: Work Order of Merit; 1968: Bronze Medal of the International Fine Arts Exhibition, Juvisy (FR); 1969: Silver medal at the Paris-Sud international art exhibition; 1980: The 1st Prize of the Sicilian Festival of Contemporary Painting, Cefalù; 1991: The Starry Order of the Republic of Hungary decorated with gold wreaths. From the age of free-riding he worked at the Szolnok colony, from the 40's on the Danube Bend, mainly in Zebegény, Nagymaros. In 1935 he was in Yugoslavia, Italy and Libya, and in 1939. During his career, he was on a study trip in many countries. After 1945 he participated in the reorganization of the Baja and Kecskemét colony and the Fészek Club and was one of the founders and secretaries of the Rippl-Rónai Society. He landscapes, still life, figurative scenes. His travel experiences and impressions are captured in rich, vibrant, wide-painted, thick-faced images. From the beginning of the 1960s he also depicted the landscapes around Lake Balaton.
