Painter, graphic artist. In 1933, Szőnyi István private school, then studied at the Budapest Academy of Fine Arts from 1934 to 1940. Masters: Rudnay Gyula, Réti István, Benkhard Ágoston, Szőnyi István. Alexander the Great learned fresco painting. In many European countries, as well as Mongolia, Japan and Algeria went on a study tour. From 1940 he lived in Hódmezővásárhely. Actively involved in the local art fairs life between 1943-1947. In 1948 he moved to Budapest. Szőnyi István at the College of Fine Arts in Budapest fresco as an assistant teacher taught from 1949 to 1959. The Military art studio he organized in 1951-1952. In 1953, local fair open house artists' colony. Hajdúböszörmény artistic director of the artists' colony. He was for many years chairman of the hortobágyi creative camp. Also painted several frescoes. 1941 individual exhibitions and group exhibitions presented their creations. The Art Gallery in 1960, Stephen has issued Kamotsay and 1977 and an independent exhibition in 1985. Abroad in 1962 was issued by the works of the Venice Biennale, outside Milan (1965, 1968) and Berlin (1966) had individual exhibitions. He regularly attended the local Fall Fair exhibitions, the Szeged Summer Exhibition fairs, Hatvan Landscape and Portrébiennálékon and fair by local artists jubilee events organized by the National Gallery and the Art Gallery. Awards: Munkácsy Prize (1950), Roman scholarship (1941-1942, 1961, 1983), Artist of Merit (1971), the Golden Order of Merit Work degree (1974), Outstanding Artist (1978), the Kossuth Prize (1985). In addition to the major domestic public collections of Italian and Japanese creations can be found in public collections.
